Victory Parade for Super Bowl XLVIII Champions The Seahawks

February 05, 2014  •  6 Comments

During a cold and crisp sunny morning on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, the air in Downtown Seattle was amped up with energy from the 12th Man. More than 750,000 crazed Seahawks fans lined the streets of Downtown Seattle from just South of the Space Needle on Denny Way, down 4th Avenue to Centurylink Field.

The further you got to Centurylink Field the larger the party was as Seahawks fans crammed every single place they could get including on building tops, trees, street signs and more.

Tons of security, police, state patrol, and K-9 explosive detection dogs were on hand to control the crowd.

Even a K-9 vehicle had a hard time getting through the large crowd near the stadium.

The victory parade started an hour late due to how many people packed the streets that they couldn't get through until the streets were barricaded off by police.

Streets leading up to Centurylink Field was so packed the police had to make a pathway for the parade.

Once security was lined up to control the crowd and clear a path for the parade floats to come through they opened the gate to let the fans spill into the north parking lot of the stadium.

To get a sense of the size and adrenaline of the 12th Man at Centurylink Field.

The parade finally made its way through with the help of Police.

First in line behind the police was the Joint Forces Color guard followed by the teams motor coaches with their families.

Then came Marshawn Lynch "Beast Mode" having the time of his life celebrating with all of the fans by throwing his power pellets aka Skittles to everyone riding on the front of the duck with the Seagals on board in the back.

Following that in a Military Humvee was Seahawks owner Paul Allen. Other dignitaries included in the parade were Governor Jay Inslee, King County Executive Dow Constantine, and Seahawks broadcaster Steve Raible.

and finally the coach and players of the Seattle Seahawks

and to finish off this beautiful sunny day with a view of our lovely city with Mt. Baker in the background.
